UConn Alums to Compete for Olympic Medals Saturday

TOKYO – Six former members of the UConn women's basketball team will play for Olympic medals on Saturday in the finale for women's basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The United States faces host Japan in the gold medal game at 10:30 p.m. ET. The U.S. features UConn alumnae Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
France faces Serbia in the bronze medal game at 3 a.m. ET. Gabby Williams is a member of the France National Team.
The U.S. is seeking its seventh straight gold medal at the Olympics. Bird and Taurasi are looking to become the first basketball athletes to earn five Olympic gold medals.
France is seeking its second Olympic medal after earning silver in 2012.
