Keating on 2021 Patrick Mannelly Watch List

STORRS, Conn. - The Patrick Mannelly Award, named after former NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly, will be presented again this season to the best FBS senior long snapper. UConn senior Brian Keating is one of 31 long snappers nationwide to secure a spot on the watch list entering the 2021 campaign.Â
The Award, created in 2019, benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. While last year's ceremony was remote, we are hoping for a live presentation of the Award in Lake Bluff on December 11, 2021.
Ten semi-finalists will be announced on November 15, 2021. Those names will be narrowed to three finalists selected on November 29, 2021 and the winner announced at the Award ceremony in December.
The Darien, Conn. native has been on multiple watch lists this preseason with appearances on the Wuerffel Trophy and AllState AFCA Good Works Team watch lists.Â
The Huskies open up their season on the gridiron on Saturday, August 28 at Fresno State at 2 p.m.
