Boker and Tiedtke Earn NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships

STORRS, Conn. - Former University of Connecticut field hockey standouts Svea Boker and Antonia Tiedtke have been selected as recipients of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship as announced by the NCAA. The NCAA awards the Postgraduate Scholarship annually to student-athletes who are continuing their studies following graduation and have a history of excellence in competition and in the classroom.Â
Boker earned a spot on the NFHCA All-America First Team after completing her senior season ranked fourth nationally in goals and points. She was honored as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and the BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player and finished her career ranked in the top-10 in school history in the three major statistical categories, goals (8th), assists (3rd), and points (5th). Boker was selected as a First Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2018, a year in which she earned mention as a Second Team All-American.
Tiedtke was honored as an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection and as a member of the All-BIG EAST Tournament Team in 2019. She led the team, and ranked third nationally, with 16 assists. Finished her career with 13 goals and 49 assists for 75 points, including a career-best 20 assists during the 2018 season. Finished her career at UConn ranked fourth all-time in assists.Â
NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Description:Â The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
