Huskies Head to BU on Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's and women's track & field teams are headed to Boston University on Saturday for the Battle in Beantown Invite at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Saturday's meet is unscored and features host BU along with the Huskies, Albany, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Rutgers and UMass Lowell.
The Huskies have a pair of meets under their belts as they begin heading toward the midpoint of the indoor schedule. UConn competed at the URI Invite last weekend and junior Travis Snyder (Saco, Maine) continued his strong start to the season, winning the pole vault as he sits at 14th the NCAA performance list in the event. Classmate Tyler Hrbek (Northvale, NJ) is right with him at 17th.
Freshman Terrel Williams (Maplewood, NJ) had a great showing the 60-meter hurdles last weekend, finishing second with a time of 7.99 seconds. He comes into this weekend 43rd in the NCAA rankings. The Huskies got their 4x400 relay team on the track for the first-time last weekend and won with a time of 3:18.89 from Noah Woodman (Hampstead, NH), Markus Bagley (Jersey City, NJ), Stephen Sutton (Tolland, CT) and Wellington Ventura (Cresskill, N.J.), 43rd nationally,
Senior Daniel Claxton (Nesconset, NY) is currently 17th in the NCAA rankings in the high jump off his season opening performance at Harvard (2.13 meters).
Following this weekend's event, the Huskies will take part in the Great Dane Classic and John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU next weekend.
