Huskies win in thrilling fashion over Providence, 3-2

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team beat the Providence Friars 3-2 on a rainy night in Storrs. Connecticut native Scott Testori scored the game winner in the final minute of the game.
The first 20 minutes of the game were played in the midfield as both teams struggled to find a way through each other's defenses. UConn would open the scoring in the 22nd minute as freshman forward Eli Conway scored his first career goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Kai Griese served a cross on a silver platter for Conway to finish a header past the Friars goalkeeper.
Providence would tie the game at one off a corner kick in the 41st minute. The half ended knotted up at one.
The second half started much like the first with both teams looking to find a breakthrough goal. In the 70thminute, Mateo Leveque had a great chance in front of goal, but the Providence goalkeeper made a big save to keep the game tied at one. Leveque would give the Huskies the lead just 12 minutes later off a free kick, giving UConn a 2-1 lead. The sophomore midfielder won a free kick just outside of the Friars penalty box. His shot on goal took a slight deflection from the Providence wall which drifted the ball into the crossbar and down into the goal. This is Leveque's second goal of the season.
Providence went on to find an equalizer two minutes later in the 84th minute off another corner kick.
UConn's Testori was the hero as his goal in the 90th minute sealed the win over the Friars. Jayden Reid did well to beat a couple of Providence defenders and served a cross right to Testori who was there to head the ball over the keeper's stretched hands. This is Testori's second goal of the season.

UConn will be back home on Saturday night as they welcome the Seton Hall Pirates to Morrone Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
