Huskies finish fourth at the Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBRUG, PA. – The University of Connecticut women's swimming and diving team finished fourth in a three-day road meet at the Bucknell Invitational.
The Team finished Friday with a win in the 500y Free (Niamh Hofland) and placing well in other events. A third-place finish in the 400y Medley Relay helped the team close out in fourth, trailing La Salle by 11 points.
The Huskies maintained strength at fourth place Saturday with success in the 100y Backstroke (Kayla Mendonca, 2nd), 100y Breaststroke (Angela Gambardella, 2nd), 400y IM (Niamh Hofland, 2nd), and 200y Medley Relay (3rd).
Sunday would bring the greatest success with UConn taking wins in the 200y Backstroke (Robyn Edwards), 1650y Free (Niamh Hofland), and 400y Free Relay (Ella Epes, Haley Schmitt, Lexi Martino, Maggie Donlevy). Other notable performances include Kayla Mendonca placing 2nd in the 200y Backstroke, Angela Gambardella placing 2nd in the 200y Breaststroke, and Ana Laura Faoro placing 3rd in the 3 mtr Diving.
The event concluded the Huskies Fall season as they gear up for a home conference meet against Seton Hall in the Spring.
