UConn, Iowa to Battle in Top-10 Matchup

PORTLAND – The No. 3 UConn women's basketball team (4-0) battles No. 9 Iowa (7-0) for the Phil Knight Legacy title on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in the Moda Center. The game will air on ABC and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
The game is the first of UConn's six network games this season. The Huskies' next three Sunday games will be aired on ABC.
UConn opened the Phil Knight Legacy with a 78-50 win over Duke on Friday. Graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal led the Huskies with 23 points and shot 4-for-5 on three pointers.
Junior guard Nika Mühl had her second straight game with 10+ assists as she dished out 11 vs. the Blue Devils. These are the first two games of Mühl's career with double-digit assists. Junior forward Aaliyah Edwards had her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Iowa picked up a 73-59 win over Oregon State on Friday. Junior Caitlin Clark led the Hawkeyes with 28 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. This season, Clark, a returning All-American, leads Iowa with 27.0 points and 7.0 assists per game. Senior Monika Czinano is averaging 18.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Head coach Lisa Bluder is in her 23rd season at Iowa.
