Huskies Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

The BIG EAST Conference announced their All-BIG EAST players and teams on the morning of Thursday, November 3rd with four UConn players earning honors, including a Freshman of the Year honor. Sol Simone, freshman from Argentina, was awarded All-BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and All-BIG EAST First Team. Senior back, Claire Jandewerth, was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team as well. Veteran goalkeeper, Cheyenne Sprecher, and freshman, Julia Bressler, were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
#14 Sol Simone – Freshman
Simone has twice been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week during the season and caps that off with a BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honor. She has two goals, seven assists, 24 shots on goal, and 11 points on the season.
#18 Claire Jandewerth – Senior
After being honored with the Captain title, Jandewerth has started in all 17 games this season for the Huskies. She's scored four goals, had four assists, and tallied 12 points on the season.
#00 Cheyenne Sprecher – Graduate Student
Sprecher has recorded five shutouts this season, with a 75.8% save percentage. She has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week three times this season and has been named the NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week.
#12 Julia Bressler – Freshman
Bressler holds a BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, including seven goals, one assist, and 19 shots on goal for the Huskies. She has amassed 15 points this season.
The Huskies will take on Liberty University on Friday afternoon at 4:04 p.m. in the first round of the BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
