No. 9 Huskies to Face Florida State in HOF Women's Showcase

STORRS, Conn. – The ninth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (7-2) faces Florida State (10-1) in the 2022 Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Mohegan Sun Arena. The game will air on ESPN and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
UConn is 33-1 all-time at Mohegan Sun Arena.
UConn fell at No. 20 Maryland, 85-78, last Sunday. Junior Aaliyah Edwards set career highs with 25 points and seven assists and added eight rebounds in the game. Redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin had 15 rebounds against the Terps. UConn outrebounded Maryland 46-24, but the Huskies committed 22 turnovers. The Huskies had only seven players available in the game. UConn was without Dorka Juhasz (broken thumb), Nika Muhl (concussion protocol) and Azzi Fudd (knee), who have all started games this season.
UConn is 9-0 all-time vs. Florida State. The teams last met on Nov. 14, 2016, a 78-76 win for the Huskies. This is the second time the teams have faced off in the Hall of Fame Showcase. UConn beat FSU, 73-49, in the 2015 HOF Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Florida State is coming off a 98-37 win over Presbyterian on Thursday. The Seminoles are 11-1 so far this season. This season, Ta'Niya Latson leads the team and ranks fifth nationally with 25.4 points per game. The Seminoles rank second nationally with 7.1 blocks per game and fifth nationally with 88.4 points per game. Head coach Brooke Wyckoff is in her first official season as head coach for Florida State.
