STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team (16-5, 10-1 BIG EAST) travels to Marquette (17-6, 10-4) Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET in Al McGuire Center. The game will air on FOX and the UConn Sports Network.
The UConn-Marquette game will be the third-ever women's basketball game on FOX. UConn faced DePaul in the first women's game on the network last season and competed against Tennessee on FOX last Sunday.
UConn finishes a tough stretch of four games in eight days, which included No. 7 Tennessee and the second, third and fourth place teams in the BIG EAST (Villanova, DePaul, Marquette).
The Huskies bounced back from their first conference loss since 2013 with an 84-60 win over DePaul Friday. Graduate student Dorka Juhász led the Huskies and set a season high with 22 points and added eight rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Aaliyah Edwards also had a season high with 19 points and also had six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior Christyn Williams had her second straight 20-point game.
UConn held DePaul, who came into the game leading the NCAA with 90.2 points per game, to a season-low 60.
UConn is 12-0 all-time vs. Marquette. The Huskies and Eagles faced off three times last season: twice in the regular season and in the BIG EAST Tournament final. This is the first of two meetings in the regular season for the Huskies and Golden Eagles. The teams were supposed to face off in Connecticut on Dec. 29, but the game was rescheduled for Feb. 23 due to COVID.
Marquette fell in overtime, 74-63, to Villanova Friday. This season, Lauren Lan Kleunen leads the Golden Eagles with 14.0 points per game. Head coach Megan Duffy is in her third season at Marquette.
