Watson Earns BIG EAST Midfield of the Week Nod

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Following an impressive opening week of play, senior Sydney Watson of the UConn women's lacrosse team has been named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Watson was a force all over the field for the Huskies, tallying seven points on five goals and two assists, 10 draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
In the season opener at Fairfield, the senior showed her All-American form, leading UConn in points (6), goals (4), assists (2). She followed with five draw controls and extended her point streak to 24 games at No. 13 James Madison.
Watson and the Huskies will host UMass Lowell on Friday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. for their home opener
