No. 7 Huskies Take on Marquette Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 7 UConn women's basketball team (19-5, 13-1 BIG EAST) returns to the XL Center for the second time this week to host Marquette (18-8, 11-6) Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network.
With a win Wednesday, UConn will clinch the 2021-22 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship. The Huskies have won 27 conference regular season titles.
Senior Christyn Williams scored 19 points as UConn beat Georgetown, 90-49, last Sunday. Sophomore Nika Mühl and Caroline Ducharme set career highs with six steals each. The Huskies had a season-high 21 steals vs. the Hoyas. The Huskies scored 39 points off turnovers and 26 fastbreak points vs. Georgetown. Freshman Azzi Fudd had 12 points while Mühl had 11.
UConn is 13-0 all-time vs. Marquette. On Feb. 13, UConn came from down at the end of the third quarter to beat the Golden Eagles, 72-58, in Milwaukee. Azzi Fudd led UConn with 24 points in the game.
Marquette is coming off a 64-57 win over Georgetown last Friday. This season, Lauren Van Kleunen leads Marquette with 13. points per game. Head coach Megan Duffy is in her third season at Marquette.
The Huskies are home for their final three regular season games. After Wednesday, UConn will play its final game XL Center game of the season Friday vs. St. John's before hosting Providence in Gampel Pavilion next Sunday.
