Huskies Remain Top Two Heading Into Day 3 Of Big East Champs

LONG ISLAND, New York – The University of Connecticut women's swimming and diving team remains in the top two heading into day three of BIG EAST Championships. UConn trails only Villanova through 14 events.
The second day of championships featured the 500-yard freestyle, 200 IM, 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Huskies would once again reach the podium in the first event of the night as sophomore Niamh Hofland would place second the in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.27. Senior Katelyn Walsh would follow suit as she would score 22 points for the Huskies in the 200 IM finishing with a time of 2:06.23.
Freshman Maggie Donlevy would be the second Husky reaching the podium on day two as she would take home fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.30. Wrapping up the night would be the 200-yard freestyle relay in which the Huskies would take home fourth place. The relay team of freshman Maggie Donlevy, senior Linnea Anderson, junior Charlotte Proceller, and sophomore Mellissa Lowry would finish with a time of 1:33.17.
Day three of Big East Championships will feature the 100-yard Butterfly, 400 IM, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard Breaststroke, 100 yard backstroke, and the 1-meter diving finals.
