STORRS, Conn. – Former UConn defensive lineman Travis Jones has earned an invite to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place from March 1-7 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The NFL Network will air more than 50 hours of the combine live and fans can also watch the combine via the NFL app.
The defensive linemen invited to the Combine will showcase their talents on Saturday, March 5 from 4-11 p.m. Jones is one of 324 players invited to the Combine, including one of 48 defensive linemen set to attend.
About month ago, Jones opened up a lot of eyes and generated plenty of buzz during his performance at the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. The 2021 Combine was canceled due to the pandemic, but Matt Peart was the most recent Husky to earn an invite in 2020. Peart was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
In 11 games during the 2021 season, Jones totaled 47 tackles while facing a steady diet of double-teams from the opposition. 7.5 of those tackles were for loss and he also posted 4.5 sacks.
He is projected as a third-round NFL Draft pick, and his week in Mobile did nothing but enhance that draft stock.
The Huskies will host 2022Pro Day on March 15, and the 2022 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 28.
