LaPrise, Watson Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

NEW YORK - The senior tandem of La LaPrise and Sydney Watson were recognized by the BIG EAST for their stellar efforts on the field, as LaPrise was named the Attacker of the Week and Watson was tabbed the Midfielder of the Week.
LaPrise led the BIG EAST in points (12), led the Huskies in goals (8), and tied for the team lead with Watson for assists (4) on the week. The senior had a standout performance against Cornell on Sunday, tying career highs with six goals and eight points, and her eight points matched the conference's single-game high this season. All six of her goals vs. the Big Red came in the second half and she additionally posted a pair of goals and assists against Manhattan.
Watson earned her third weekly honor of the season after piling on nine points, seven goals, two assists and 14 draw controls to guide the Huskies to a pair of wins on their home turf. Watson ripped a hat trick in the first half against the Jaspers, and followed with four goals and two assists vs. Cornell.
The duo has combined for 38 percent of UConn's scoring output this season, and each has recorded at least one point in all seven games.
