Huskies Wrap Three Meet Road Swing

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's and women's track and field teams sent a select group of student-athletes to three different events this week, competing at the Raleigh Relays at NC State, the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
The Huskies are back at home for the first of two home meets this spring at the George J. Sherman Family Sport Complex next weekend. UConn will host the Dog Fight Invitational on April 2 and then the Northeast Challenge on April 15-16. UConn's home facility will serve as the host site for the 2022 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship as well this May
Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays – March 23-26 - Results
- Senior Benjamin Grosse (Wayzata, Minn.) finished ninth in the decathlon in his first time competing in the decathlon this season. Grosse finished with 7,158 total points and was fourth in the javelin (53.88m) and fourth in the 1500 meters (4:34.83).
- Fellow senior Jordan Torney (Toms River, N.J.) totaled 5,603 points but did not compete in the pole vault or 1500 meters. He finished 16th in the field.
- Senior Daniel Claxton (Nesconset, N.Y.) finished 16th in the high jump with a height of 2.05 meters
Raleigh Relays – March 24-26 - Results
- Senior Eric Van Der Els (Norwalk, Conn.) finished 11th in a field of 223 runners in the 5,000 meters with a time of 13:49.16, setting a new PR.
Texas State Bobcat Invitational – March 24-26 - Results
- Senior Chris Keegan (West Hartford, Conn.) finished eighth overall in the hammer throw with a throw of 57.89 meters
- Junior Tyler Hrbek (Northvale, N.J. was 12th in pole vault with a height of 4.90 meters. Senior teammate Travis Snyder (Saco, Maine) was also in 12th at 4.90 meters.
