UConn Adds Transfer Lou Lopez Sénéchal

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball head coach Geno Auriemma announced the addition of transfer forward Lou Lopez Sénéchal Saturday.
"We're excited to have Lou join our program," Auriemma said. "She comes to us with a lot of experience and she's a smart, tough, hard-working player. Lou is a great scorer and we're looking forward to her getting to work in June."
Lopez Sénéchal will graduate from Fairfield with a degree in marketing. She will have one year of eligibility at UConn.
A 6-foot-1 forward, Lopez Sénéchal spent four seasons with the Stags. She was the unanimous MAAC Player of the Year in 2022 and a three-time All-MAAC First Team selection. Fairfield won the 2022 MAAC Championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.
Lopez Sénéchal notched 1598 points (16.1 per game) and 470 rebounds (4.7 per game) in four seasons at Fairfield. She has a career 43.3 field-goal percentage and 38.8 three-point field-goal percentage.
As a senior in 2021-22, Lopez Sénéchal averaged 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Her points per game led the MAAC. She scored 20+ points in 16 games and was the MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Lopez Sénéchal averaged 16.9 points as a junior and 15.5 points as a sophomore. She averaged 11.8 points per game as a freshman and was the MAAC Rookie of the Year.
The Grenoble, France, native is also a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.
Prior to college, Lopez Sénéchal played for the North Atlantic Basketball Academy in Dublin, Ireland.
