STORRS, Conn. – UConn grad student Chloe Gonsalves from Toronto, Ontario will continue her hockey career as she has officially signed a professional contract with HV71 DAM of the Swedish Women's Hockey league.
Gonsalves came to UConn after four seasons at Providence College. Gonsalves was a staple of the UConn defense this past season, playing in every single game for the Huskies. As a top line and shut down defender, Chloe would lay it all on the line blocking a total of 60 shots and being a huge piece on the penalty kill. In addition to being a defensive stopper, Chloe would pitch in four assists on the offensive side of the ice. For her collegiate career Gonsalves would finish with 158 total games played, scoring three goals, and dishing out 27 assists for 30 points.
"I'm looking forward to continuing to grow as a person and a player! HV71 has a culture of excellence that I am very excited to be a part of." Said Gonsalves. Chloe Gonsalves is the third Husky to sign on and continue playing Hockey professionally, joining fellow graduate students Taylor and Morgan Wabick who are also in the Swedish Women's Hockey league.
