FH Preseason Rankings Released, Ranked No. 15

STORRS, Conn. - The NFHCA and BIG EAST Conference released its preseason rankings on Tuesday afternoon.Â
The UConn field hockey team is ranked No. 15 in the NFHCA poll and were picked second in the BIG EAST Conference with Liberty being picked as the preseason favorite.Â
Reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Sophia Ugo and All-Conference Second Teamer Claire Jandewerth were picked to the preseason All-BIG EAST team.
UConn finished 11-11 in 2021 and finished second in the BIG EAST with a 5-2 mark.Â
The Huskies return five of its top six scorers with leading including Jandewerth, Ugo, McKenna Sergi, Madi Herb and Morgan Kaufmann.Â
UConn also returns their outstanding goalie Cheyenne Sprecher who returns as a four-time All-BIG EAST performer and two-time NFHCA All-Region talent.Â
The Huskies open the season on Friday, August 26 at 1 p.m. against UMass Lowell at the George Sherman Family Sports Complex.
