No. 5 UConn Travels to Butler Tuesday

STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (11-2, 4-0 BIG EAST) begins a two-game road trip at Butler (6-8, 1-4) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Hinkle Fieldhouse. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
The Huskies closed out 2022 with a 61-48 win over Marquette last Saturday. Graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal, who has scored in double-digits in each game this season, scored 22 points vs. the Golden Eagles. Sophomore Caroline Ducharme had a season-high 19 points against Marquette. She shot 61.5 percent, including 50 percent from three, in the game. The Huskies out-rebounded Marquette, 39-28. Graduate student Dorka Juhász grabbed 10 rebounds in the game.
The 2022-23 campaign marks the 11th season of SNY as the television home of the UConn women's basketball team. In 10 seasons, the Huskies have lost just one game when competing on SNY. UConn holds a 170-1 record when playing on the network. The Huskies are currently in the midst of a 10-game stretch of SNY games. The network will air 18 UConn games this season.
UConn is 3-0 all-time vs. Butler. The teams faced off just once last season: a 92-47 UConn win on Jan. 12 in Indianapolis. Caroline Ducharme scored 18 points in the game. Butler's game at UConn last season was canceled due to travel issues for the Bulldogs.
UConn freshman Ayanna Patterson is a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., which is about two hours northeast of Indianapolis.
Butler fell at Seton Hall, 79-45, last Saturday. Caroline Strande led the Bulldogs with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the game. This season, Rachel McLimore leads Butler with 11.8 points per game while Sydney Jaynes is averaging 10.2. Head coach Austin Parkinson is in his first season at Butler. The Bulldogs, who had one win in 2021-22, have six wins so far this season.
