No. 5 Huskies to Host Butler in Gampel Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (16-2, 9-0 BIG EAST) hosts Butler (7-12, 2-8) in Gampel Pavilion on Saturday at noon. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
Saturday is UConn's Pride Game. The team will wear Pride warmups and UConn's Rainbow Center will have pamphlets, bracelets and rainbow headbands to giveaway.
UConn's game vs. DePaul, originally scheduled for Jan. 8, has been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion. Patrons with tickets and parking passes to the original game will be able to use them on the makeup date.
Despite having just seven players available, UConn routed Seton Hall, 103-58, on Tuesday. Graduate student Dorka Juhász had 22 points and 11 rebounds while junior Aaliyah Edwards has 21 points and 11 rebounds. Redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin scored 22 points at Seton Hall. Junior Nika Mühl notched 13 assists for her seventh double-digit assist game of the season.
Sophomore Amari DeBerry broke out for career highs with 13 points and eight rebounds. The Huskies reached the 100-point threshold for the first time since the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
UConn is 4-0 all-time vs. Butler. The teams met on Jan. 3 in Indianapolis, an 80-47 win for the Huskies. Junior Aaliyah Edwards led UConn with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Butler fell to Providence, 74-66, on Wednesday. Caroline Strande led the Bulldogs with 18 points and six rebounds in the game. This season, Rachel McLimore leads Butler with 11.1 points per game. Head coach Austin Parkinson is in his first season at Butler. The Bulldogs, who had one win in 2021-22, have seven wins so far this season.
