Christian Haynes Named AP Mid-Season All-American

STORRS, Conn. - UConn r-senior Christian Haynes (Bowie, Md.) was named to the Associate Press Mid-season All-American team on Wednesday. Haynes was named to the second team offense.
Haynes, an offensive guard, earned a spot on the 2022 AP and The Sporting News All-American teams, becoming the third Husky in the FBS era to earn All-American status. Heading into this fall, he was named to the 2023 Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Walter Camp, and Phil Steele Preseason All-American teams. He was also named to the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List and the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000.
Since the 2019 season he has started 43 straight games at guard on the offensive line for the Husky offense. Haynes helps anchor an offensive line that ranks 22nd in the nation this season in sack allowed, giving up just eight in six games (1.33 per game).
Haynes and the Huskies are home this Saturday to play host to USF at 3:30 pm at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
