NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball alumna Kiah Stokes and the Las Vegas Aces went back-to-back as WNBA champions as the Aces beat the New York Liberty in game four of the WNBA Finals Wednesday.
Stokes has a history of repeat championships as she won the 2013, '14 and '15 NCAA titles at UConn.
The Aces are the first team to win consecutive WNBA championships since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2001 and '02.
Las Vegas finished the regular season with a 34-6 record and the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs. The Aces lost just one game in the 2023 playoffs.
Stokes started in 30 of 48 games she appeared in for the Aces this season. She averaged 2.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Stokes missed the final game vs. the Liberty with a foot injury.
Nineteen former Huskies have won a total of 34 WNBA Championships.
