No. 4 Huskies to Host Xavier on Senior Night

STORRS, Conn. – The fourth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (25-5, 17-2) will celebrate graduate students Dorka Juhász and Lou Lopez Sénéchal before taking on Xavier (7-21, 0-19) Monday at 7 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and the UConn Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
Fans should plan on being in their seats by 6:30 p.m. for the Senior Night ceremony. Ticket for Senior Night are still available HERE. UConn will live stream the ceremony on the UConn women's basketball Facebook and Twitter pages.
The Huskies will also honor senior managers Lia Desmond, Jake Gallo, Max Honafius, Gabi Mendonca and Jasmine Thorpe pregame.
UConn played its final road game of the season at DePaul last Saturday, picking up a hard-fought 72-69 win. Junior Aaliyah Edwards had 16 points in the game while redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin had 14 points and nine rebounds.
With the win over DePaul, UConn clinched a share of the 2022-23 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in next weekend's BIG EAST Tournament. UConn can win the title outright with a win Monday.
UConn is 6-0 all-time vs. Xavier. In the first meeting between the teams on Jan. 5, Griffin had 19 points while Juhász had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead UConn to a 73-37 victory.
Xavier hasn't won a BIG EAST game this season, last falling to Marquette, 58-46, on Saturday. This season, Mackayla Scarlett leads the Musketeers with 10.7 points per game. Head coach Melanie Moore is in her fourth season at Xavier.
UConn will being 2023 BIG EAST Tournament play on Saturday, March 4 in Mohegan Sun Arena. The top-seeded Huskies will face either No. 8 Butler or No. 9 Georgetown at noon on FS1.
