No. 4 Huskies Travel to Marquette Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The fourth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (21-3, 13-0 BIG EAST) begins a two-game road stint at Marquette (15-8, 8-6) Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
UConn narrowly fell to No. 1 South Carolina, 81-77, last Sunday in front of a sold-out crowd at the XL Center. Junior Aaliyah Edwards led the Huskies with 25 points in the game while playing 29 minutes. Graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal scored 19 points while redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin had 17. The Huskies outscored the Gamecocks 25-14 in the first quarter and the teams went into halftime tied. UConn continued to respond to South Carolina runs in the second half but fell just short.
UConn is 16-0 all-time vs. Marquette. The teams last faced off in Storrs on Dec. 31, 2022, a 61-48 win for the Huskies. Lopez Sénéchal led UConn with 22 points in the game.
Marquette is coming off a 66-49 win over Georgetown last Saturday. This season, Jordan King leads the Golden Eagles with 16.1 points per game. Head coach Megan Duffy is in her fourth season at Marquette.
