UConn Golfers Compete In Desert Mountain Collegiate

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The UConn men's golf team finished play in the Desert Mountain Collegiate tournament Sunday, with grad student Jared Nelson leading the Huskies' effort at the Desert Mountain Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Nelson (Rutland, Vt.) tied for 41st place in the huge 93-player field, shooting a 10-over, 73-79-74=226. Also for the Huskies, junior Jimmy Paradise (Tampa, Fla.) tied for 58th place with a 14-over, 75-78-77=230, junior Tommy Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.) tied for 82nd place with a 23-over, 73-85-81=239, freshman Colin Spencer (Mashpee, Mass.) tied for 85th place with a 25-over, 78-77-86=241, and sophomore Eric Boulger (Walpole, Mass.) tied for 87th place with a 26-over, 79-81-82=242.
Playing as an individual, UConn freshman Christopher Sacher (Schoeffengrund, Hesse, Germany) finished in 91st place with a 32-over, 78-86-84=248.
As a team, UConn was 15th at the Desert Mountain with an aggregate 299-316-313=928.
The Huskies will continue their spring schedule on March 13-14, traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to compete in the Bash at the Beach at the Surf, Golf and Beach Club.
