Juhász, Lopez Sénéchal Selected in 2023 WNBA Draft

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball graduate students Lou Lopez Sénéchal and Dorka Juhász were selected in the 2023 WNBA Draft on Monday evening at New York City's Spring Studios.
Lopez Sénéchal was the No. 5 overall pick by the Dallas Wings. She is UConn's 26th first-round selection in the league's history.
Juhász was the No. 16 overall pick by the Minnesota Lynx. She is UConn's 14th second-round selection in the WNBA Draft.
UConn has had 45 WNBA college draft selections since the league's inception in 1997, the most for a collegiate program. This is the 16th time multiple Huskies were taken in the same draft.
Lopez Sénéchal joins UConn alumna Crystal Dangerfield '20 on Dallas' roster. Juhász will team up with UConn alumna Napheesa Collier '19 in Minnesota.
WNBA training camp begins on April 30. The regular season begins on May 19.
Juhász and Lopez Sénéchal were both graduate transfers at UConn. Juhász totaled 1,620 points and 1,191 rebounds in her five-year collegiate career. She was a four-time all-conference selection in her career. In her two seasons at UConn, Juhász averaged 10.6 points and 77 rebounds per game.
Lopez Sénéchal compiled 2,173 points and 585 rebounds in her five-year career. In one season at UConn, she averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 44.0 percent from three-point range. Lopez Sénéchal was a four-time all-conference first team selection and the 2022 MAAC Player of the Year.
Juhász earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Ohio State in 2021. She received a master's degree in sport management from UConn last year and will receive a second bachelor's degree in general studies in May.
Lopez Sénéchal graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Fairfield last year and will also receive a second bachelor's degree in general studies next week.
