A'liyah Thomas Breaks School Record at Northeast Challenge

STORRS, Conn. - Sophomore long jumper A'liyah Thomas broke the UConn program record last Friday at the Northeast Challenge.
In the long jump, Thomas jumped a distance of 6.59 meters, which marks first in the Big East and fifth in the nation. That mark broke the previous record set by Taylor Woods back in 2019. In addition, Thomas fiished first with a personal record in the 100-meter hurdles running a 13.45 time and set a personal record in the 200 with a 23.85 time.
Thomas competes next at the Virginia Challenge starting on Wednesday, April 20 through Saturday, April 22.
