A'liyah Thomas Earns Big East Women's Track Athlete of the Week Honors

STORRS, Conn. - The Big East Conference announced A'liyah Thomas to the Big East Women's Track Athlete of the Week award on Wednesday.

At the UConn Dog Fight, Thomas put up a personal best time in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.59 seconds. That time leads the conference and is fifth-best in UConn program history in the outdoor top-ten performance list.

A notable performance from last weekend was Sofia Wittmann who broke her personal record in the pole vault making that the best mark in the conference and is fourth-best all-time at UConn in the outdoor performance list.

The next time Thomas and Wittmann compete will be at the Hurricane Invite on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 in Miami, Fla.
