Track & Field Set for BIG EAST Championships at Villanova

2023 BIG EAST Championships Outdoor ScheduleÂ
STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut track & field teams prepare for the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships from Thursday, May 11 to Saturday, May 13 hosted by Villanova University at Jumbo Elliott Track at Villanova Stadium in Villanova, Pa.Â
Last time out, the Huskies wrapped up the regular season at the Penn Relays with two school records in the Men's 4xMile Relay and the Women's Distance Medley Relay including six additional season bests.Â
Also, Mahamed Sharif received notable performance recognition from the weekly BIG EAST awards in the 800 meters at the Virginia High Performance. Sharif ran an outdoor season best with a time of 1:48.73 which is second-best in the conference, No. 5 all-time at UConn, and 77th in the nation. Â
In the indoor season, both the men's and women's programs won the BIG EAST Indoor Championships. The Huskies are looking to repeat that for a second consecutive time in the 2022-23 season. Also, if both programs win again in outdoors, it will make it the third-straight year winning for the men and the second-straight year for the women. Â
The three-day championship competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. EST on Thursday, 9:30 a.m. EST on Friday, and 11:30 a.m. EST on Saturday. Â
