Edwards, Canada Advance to AmeriCup Quarterfinals

LEON, Mexico – UConn women's basketball senior forward Aaliyah Edwards helped Canada Basketball to a 4-0 record in group play as the Canadians advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.
Team Canada will face Argentina in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7:40 p.m. ET. The game will stream on Courtside1891.
The Canadians led Group B with a perfect record and wins against Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Edwards started all four games in the group stage. She averaged 9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
Canada has medaled seven times in the AmeriCup, including gold medals in 2015 and 2017. Edwards was a member of the 2019 team that won silver.
