UConn Tours Croatia, Wins First Game

ZAGREB, Croatia – The UConn women's basketball team enjoyed its second day of the 2023 Foreign Tour as the Huskies experienced Croatian culture and picked up their first win of the trip.
The team began Wednesday with a trip to nearby historical city Samobor. The Huskies learned about the history and creation of Croatian licitar heart cookies and were able to practice decorating the cookie ornaments on their own.
The team walked around the city center of Samobor, trying local cuisine, before traveling back to the hotel to prep for the game. UConn had a special pregame meal of Croatian specialties as Zagreb native Nika Mühl chose the menu.
UConn played its first game of the Foreign Tour vs. Croatian All-Stars. The Huskies cruised to a 113-37 win, led by 38 points from junior Azzi Fudd.
The Huskies will move to their second of four cities on the Foreign Tour Thursday. UConn will spend time in Lake Bled, Slovenia, before moving on to Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Friday, Aug. 18: vs. Akson Ilirija; Ljubljana, Slovenia – 6:45 p.m. CEST (12:45 p.m. ET)
Monday, Aug. 21: vs. Italian All-Stars, Baricella, Italy – 6 p.m. CEST (Noon ET)
Wednesday, Aug. 23: vs. Pecs (Hungary), Murano, Italy – 6 p.m. CEST (Noon ET)
