MSOC travels to Charlotte for Season Opener

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UConn men's soccer team opens their 2023 season at the Charlotte 49ers on Thursday night at 7:00pm. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
UConn is coming off a 7-7-3 record in Chris Gbandi's first season as head coach at his alma mater. The Huskies are coming into the 2023 season with a balanced squad, returning nine players that played over 500 minutes last season. UConn returns a trio of forwards in Scott Testori, Okem Chime, and Eli Conway who recorded three goals each last season (second on the team).
The Huskies lost in last year's season opener to the 49ers, 3-1. Testori had the Huskies lone goal in the match.
UConn was selected to finish fifth in the BIG EAST East Division this year as voted by the league's coaches.
Kickoff is set for 7:00pm on Thursday, August 24th at Transamerica Field.
