Track & Field Set for Collegiate Showdown Saturday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track and field teams prepare for the Collegiate Showdown at the Track at New Balance in Boston Saturday.Â
The Huskies came into 2024 with strong performances at the Suffolk Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 13. Last time out, there were 13 winners and two facility records from graduate transfer Travis Martin in the 1000m with a time of 2:22.99 seconds and junior long jumper A'liyah Thomas put up a huge 6.25m mark. Â
Also, senior Jenna Zydanowicz broke the indoor school record in the 1000m running a time of 2:46.67. Rounding out the night, UConn finished with 10 personal bests that placed in the top five. Â
