Bueckers Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. – After leading the UConn women's basketball team to the Baha Mar Women's Championship title last week, redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week.
In two wins last week, Bueckers averaged 26.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She shot 66.7 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from three-point range in the wins.
In a 71-52 win over Oregon State, Bueckers recorded 23 points, three rebounds and six assists. In a 73-60 win over No. 18 Ole Miss, she tied her season high with 29 points and added four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Bueckers leads the BIG EAST and UConn with 22.0 points per game and a 62.7 field goal percentage. She has the highest field goal percentage in the nation for players averaging 22 points per game or higher this season.
Against ranked opponents this season, Bueckers is averaging 29.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game on a .605/.500/.750 shooting split.
This is the second time this season Bueckers has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week (Nov. 18).
The second-ranked Huskies (6-0) return to Gampel Pavilion to host Holy Cross (4-3) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).
