Dallahan Takes Third at Palmas del Mar Collegiate

HUMACAO, P.R. – The UConn men's golfers played their best golf on day three of the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, shooting a 277 on Tuesday to work their way up to an eighth place finish at the three-round event.
The Huskies tied for the second lowest team score on day three with Mercer and Rutgers and finished with a three-round total of 857 (288-292-277) to tie for eighth place in the 16 team field at -7. Their 277 (-11) on the par 72 course marked their lowest team score for a round this season.
UConn senior Tommy Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.) led the way with his second top-five finish this season, taking third place overall, four shots off the lead. Dallahan shot under par in all three rounds and finished at 205 (69-69-67), his low tournament score of the season. He played bogey free golf on Tuesday, firing five birdies to total 17 birdies over the three days, one off the tournament lead.
Freshman Alex Heard (Boca Raton, Fla.) had his best three-day tournament of the season, finishing tied for 21st after shooting 214 (71-75-68). Heard carded a 68 in Tuesday's final round, his low round of the year, finishing with five birdies on the day.
Senior Jimmy Paradise (Tampa, Fla.) made his season tournament debut this week and finished the tournament shooting 218 (74-75-69) to finish tied for 44th in the field. Paradise also played his best golf of the tournament on Tuesday, firing five birdies and finishing three-under (69).
Rounding out the UConn top-five was sophomore Connor Goode (Glastonbury, Conn.) who finished tied for 57th after shooting 220 (74-73-73) and junior Ray Dennehy (Princeton, Mass.) who was 91st, shooting 231 (75-77-79). Freshman Bradley Sawka (Ellington, Conn.), playing as an individual, tied for 80th in the field, shooting 226 (77-72-77).
The Huskies will return to action on March 11-12 when they play in The Surf Club Invitational in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
