Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou Awarded BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - The BIG EAST Conference announced Monday afternoon juniors Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou as the BIG EAST Women's Doubles Team of the Week.
"I am very proud of Olivia and Maria for being named Big East Doubles Team of the Week," said tennis head coach Glenn Marshall. "They had an outstanding weekend beating two very good teams from Stony Brook and Rutgers. The work we have been doing in practice for doubles is really paying off for them and the rest of our team. We are 6-2 in doubles points won so far this spring."
Wright and Constantinou have compiled a 3-1 doubles record at the first doubles position. This past week, the first doubles pair took a 6-3 win against Stony Brook on Friday, Feb. 16 and then came away victorious against a tough Rutgers team, winning 6-3. On top of that, Wright has a 5-3 first singles record also winning against Stony Brook and Rutgers. Constantinou also holds a strong record in singles with a 4-2 record at the second singles spot.
The Huskies next face two BIG EAST matchups on the road against DePaul and Butler on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24.
