Men's Soccer Announce Six Additions to 2025 Roster

STORRS, Conn. – UConn men's soccer head coach Chris Gbandi has announced the addition of six players to his 2025 roster from the transfer portal.
The incoming class features two midfielders, Charlie Holmes and Marco Valentic, two defenders, Khaya Roudette-Gregory and Johan Hamel, one forward, Michael Suski, and one goalkeeper, Kyle Durham.
"We are super excited to welcome Charlie, Marco, Khaya, Johan, Michael, and Kyle as part of our group," said Gbandi. "All individuals were eager to be a part of our program and we are certainly happy to have them and looking forward to seeing them contribute to our success next season."
Charlie Holmes, an All-Patriot League midfielder comes to Storrs after playing his first two seasons at Bucknell. The Seattle, Washington native played in all 33 matches, scoring five goals with three assists and 18 shots on goal for the Bison. Holmes attended Lakeside High School where he was a team captain leading the team to a Metro League Championship, while being named Metro League MVP and First Team All-Metro.
Marco Valentic comes to Connecticut after playing his first two seasons at Bucknell. As a midfielder, Valentic started in 32 out of 33 games with the Bison, scoring a goal and tallying three assists. The Kirtland, Ohio native attended Kirtland High School where he was named Ohio Division 3 Player of the Year, also earning All-American honors.
Khaya Roudette-Gregory, an NJCAA First Team All-American joins the Huskies after spending the 2023 season at Salt Lake Community College where he started every game at center back, tallying three goals with eight shots on goal. Gregory spent his freshman season at Cal State Fullerton, appearing in eight matches with two starts. The London, England native attended Nene Park Academy in Peterborough, England.
Johan Hamel arrives at UConn from Angers, France where he played right back in the National 3 League for Union Sportive Philibertine Football. Hamel will be a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility with the Huskies. He graduated from Lycee Chevrollier in 2020.
Michael Suski, a two-time Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year makes his return to Connecticut for his graduate season. Suski played his senior season at Syracuse, appearing in 15 matches, tallying an assist and three shots for the Orange. The Avon, Connecticut native played his first three seasons at Boston College, where he led the team in scoring his freshman and sophomore seasons, scoring 13 goals and recording nine assists and 39 matches played. Suski attended Loomis Chaffee, where he scored 82 goals with 44 assists, being named the 2018 Prep Player of the Year.
Kyle Durham comes to Storrs after redshirting his freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to his time at Pittsburgh, Durham played for Met Oval Academy in New York City, where he helped lead his team to win the Northeast MLS Next Division in his U-19 season. Durham has also played for his national team, Grenada at the U-20 and first team levels.
