SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The UConn women's soccer team (11-3-3, 7-1-2 BIG EAST) secured its fourth-straight shutout and extended its unbeaten streak to seven with a 1-0 road win at Seton Hall on Saturday evening at Owen T Carroll Field.
Despite the close scoreline, the Huskies dictated play and held a landslide 13-1 advantage in shots with seven corner kick opportunities while giving up none defensively.
For the Huskies they captured their 11th shutout of the season, tying for their most shutouts since the 2016 campaign. Ava Yamas notched her 10th shutout without facing a shot on goal. It is the most shutouts for a UConn keeper since 2023 (Kaitlyn Mahoney).
Junior Alayna Taylor picked up her second assist in the last four matches with a great service into the box that found sophomore Naia Ocio. Ocio volley homed the service in the 82nd minute for her second goal of the season.
Chioma Okafor led the Huskies with three shots while Taylor Jenkins, Ocio, Anaya Johnson and Farrah Stephens-Martin each added a pair.
The victory is the seventh BIG EAST victory of the season the most in BIG EAST Conference play since the program won eight games in BIG EAST play in 2007.
Next up, the Huskies will face either Georgetown or Xavier in the BIG EAST Semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
