No. 1 UConn Beats SCSU in Final Preseason Exhibition

HARTFORD, Conn. – Five Huskies scored in double digits as the top-ranked UConn women's basketball team beat Division II Southern Connecticut State, 105-39, in an exhibition Sunday afternoon at PeoplesBank Arena.
Graduate student Azzi Fudd finished the day with 21 points while senior Serah Williams had 14. Sophomore Allie Ziebell notched 13 and freshman Blanca Quiñonez scored 12 points off the bench. Sophomore Sarah Strong had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while adding six assists.
All 13 Huskies who played Sunday scored against the Owls as UConn scored 48 bench points.
UConn posted 36 points off turnovers as the Huskies forced 32 turnovers from SCSU. Connecticut had 24 steals, led by six from junior KK Arnold.
The Huskies officially open the 2025-26 season against No. 20 Louisville in the Armed Forces Classic on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The game will air at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
