Skyler Bell Earns East-West Shrine Bowl Invite

STORRS, CT - UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell (Bronx, NY) has been invited to this year's East-West Shrine Bowl which is scheduled for January 27 in Friscoi, TX.Â
Bell is in the midst of a record breaking senior season for the Huskies. He is among the nation's leading wide receivers this season, having caught 85 passes for 1,081 yards and 13 touchdowns. Bell has had four games this season with 10+ catches and has six games with 100 yards receiving. He has ten 100 yard games at UConn. He heads into this weekend having caught a TD in seven-straight games.
Earlier this season, he caught a career-best 14 passes, one off the UConn school record, for 113 yards and a score against Ball State. He has two 80-yard TD catches this season, against CCSU and last week at Rice, marking the longest receptions of his career.Â
Among the NCAA leaders this season, Bell ranks first in the country in catches (85), receptions per game (8.5) and receiving TDs (13), second in receiving yards (1,081), yards per game (108.1) and seventh in total touchdowns (13).
In last weekend's win over Duke, Bell caught a pair of touchdowns and now holds the UConn school record for TD receptions in a season. His 13 touchdowns this season, breaks the previous mark of 11 set by Carl Bond in the 1998 season.  Bell has his sights set on other UConn receiving records for a season with two regular season games left and a bowl game. His 85 catches is currently third and he sits three catches away from the #2 spot and 15 receptions away from a new school mark.Â
The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco,TX on January 27, 2026.
