Volleyball Signs Five to the Class of 2030

STORRS, Conn.-- Â UConn women's volleyball Head Coach Ellen Herman-Kimball has announced the signing of five student-athletes to the class of 2030 on Thursday morning.The class consists of Sydney Borowy (OH), Isabella Sohl (S) , Courtney Grayson (MB), Gail Buckner (L/DS), and Megan Evans (OH).
Meet the Incoming Class
Sydney Borowy
Borowy comes to Storrs from Cleveland, Ohio, and Magnificat High School, where she was team captain in 2025. Borowy received first team all-Ohio honors in 2024 and 2025. Borowy was named co-player of the year in the second division of district two. Borowy was named a high school athlete female player of the year finalist by the greater Cleveland sports commission.

She's a proven winner who plays with grit and joy, and we can't wait to see her make her mark in Storrs. Isabella Sohl
Sohl arrives in Storrs by way of Columbia, Missouri. As setter at Rock Bridge High School, Sohl received Class 5 All-State honors. Sohl was named first team all-confernece and first team all-district as well. Sohl was a UA next camp invitee twice and exhibited academic prowess off the court as well, being named academic all-state.

"Izzy is a true floor general with elite setting touch and vision. Isabella leads with poise and confidence, creating opportunities that highlight her attackers' strengths. Her steady presence and competitive drive will make an immediate impact in our gym. She has the kind of leadership and composure that sets the standard for everyone around her."
Courtney Grayson
Grayson joins the Huskies from Gonzales, Louisiana. Grayson starred at East Ascension High School before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida. Grayson is a two time first-team All-District honor selection. She was named first-team all-Metro twice, an AVCA All-Region selection and three-time player of the week nominee.

"Courtney is athletic, disciplined, and full of untapped potential, Courtney has the tools to be a force in the middle. Her ability to read and move laterally sets her apart, and her calm, confident court presence brings stability and strength to every rally. Her ceiling is incredibly high, and we're excited to help her grow into a dominant presence in the Big East."
Gail Buckner
Buckner comes to Connecticut from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Buckner was named a two-time AVCA All-Region selection and was selected to the Greater Metro 2nd Team All-District Team. Buckner played a key role on the 2024 AAU 16 Open National Championship team, as well.

Megan Evans
Evans joins UConn on the heels of a standout career at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey. The Marlton, New Jersey native was an All-State Honorable Mention and All-Group First Team. Evans earned all-section first team honors, was named to the all-conference first team, and was ranked in the overall top five percent in New Jersey in the 2024-25 year.

Meghan is powerful, driven, and fearless. Her arm brings an explosive edge that can change a match. She thrives in competition, attacks every challenge, and is hungry to grow. Her versatility and passion will be incredible additions to our program. She has that rare mix of raw power and steady determination that will make her a force in our gym.
