Trudel and Letica Earn All-Region Honors; Huskies Finish Sixth at Regionals

HOPKINTON, N.H.—UConn women's cross county posted a solid showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday morning. The Huskies finished sixth in the region with 173 points as a team, finishing behind champion Boston College, Providence, Army West Point, Syracuse, and Yale.
Captain Chloe Trudel set a new personal-best time of 20:16.0, claiming 10th overall. Sascha Letica also set a new personal-best, finishing in 16th with a time of 20:24.4. Trudel and Letica claimed all-region honors for the Huskies, placing in the top-25 after career performances.
"It was awesome to compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships," said Head Coach Beth Alford-Sullivan. "The programs that qualified for the NCAA Championships have been mainstays in this competitive region. I am super proud of Chloe Trudel and her progression over the last four years to earn a top-10 finish, the best of her career. Sascha Letica put together a great performance and had a great season. She has a bright future ahead of her. We competed hard as a team, and I am proud of our seniors and excited for the growth of our underclassmen as they continue their careers."
Brooke Strauss crossed the line in 20:50.6, finishing 39th. Malin Rahm placed 53rd, finishing with a time of 20:59.5. Sarah Trainor finished two spots behind Rahm in 55th, with a time of 21:00.4.Loghan Hughes finished with a time of 21:34.1, placing 101st overall. Claire Paci crossed the line at 21:49.2, finishing in 122nd place.
Army West Point's Charlotte Richman took home the individual crown, with a time of 19:52.8. Boston College secured the crown as a team with 60 points, placing its top five runners in the top-22. Providence punched its ticket to next week's NCAA Championships in Columbia, Missouri, finishing as the runner-up with 71 points.
The NCAA Championship selection show will air on Saturday November 15th at 3:00pm, where the entire field for the NCAA Championships will be revealed.
