UConn Athletics Sets $500,000 Goal for Giving Tuesday 2025

STORRS, Conn. (November 2025) – On Tuesday, December 2, UConn Athletics will once again unite Husky Nation for Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving dedicated to making a difference. This year, the department has set an ambitious goal of raising $500,000 from 2,000 donors in support of UConn student-athletes and programs—marking a historic push to reach half a million dollars in one day.
UConn fans, alumni, and supporters from across the country are invited to join in by contributing to the funds and programs that fuel the success of UConn's nearly 600 student-athletes. Every gift—large or small—strengthens the foundation of Husky Athletics and helps student-athletes excel in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.
In addition to sport-specific funds which help drive achievements for each of our 21 Husky Teams, this year's Giving Tuesday will spotlight several new priority areas that enhance the student-athlete experience and Husky pride:
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
SAAC empowers UConn student-athletes to develop their leadership skills through advocacy, service, and teamwork opportunities. Through these experiences, SAAC fosters a space that allows student-athletes to voice their perspectives and shape a stronger, more unified athletic community.
Student-Athlete Mental Health Fund
This fund supports initiatives that prioritize the overall well-being of UConn student-athletes. It will enable access to resources, programming, and professional support tailored to the unique experiences of student-athletes.
Student-Athlete Success Center Programming
The Bailey Student-Athlete Success Center and the Nayden Center for Academic Excellence will bring athletics, research, academic support, sports medicine, and other programs together in one facility, and provide UConn student-athletes with champion-level resources for success beyond the field.
UConn Athletics' "Built in Storrs. Backed by You." campaign continues to embody the power of collective giving. On this Giving Tuesday, every contribution—no matter the size—moves UConn closer to its goal of half a million dollars and helps shape the next generation of Huskies.
