Bueckers, Strong Sweep BIG EAST Weekly Honors

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week while Sarah Strong was selected as the Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.
Bueckers averaged 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 62.1% in two wins last week. At Seton Hall, Bueckers had 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. She had her second double-double of the season at Butler with 23 points and 10 assists.
Bueckers leads the nation with a 3.71 assist-turnover ratio.
Strong averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game last week. She notched 10 points, five rebounds and three assists at Seton Hall. Strong had 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists at Butler.
This is the fifth time this season Bueckers has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. This is Strong's ninth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor.
