Huskies Continue BIG EAST Dominance

CHICAGO, Ill. - UConn men's and women's track and field each won their fourth consecutive BIG EAST Indoor Championship on Saturday, continuing their conference dominance in Chicago. The men's side won the BIG EAST for the fourth year in a row with 236.5 points, defeating runner-up Villanova (113 points), bringing the title back to Storrs for the 13th time overall, The women's side also won their fourth indoor championship in a row with 189 points, 77 points ahead of second place Georgetown (112), a strong performance to win their sixth indoor BIG EAST crown. This is the seventh occurrence of dual championships from the men's side and women's side in program history.Â
"Thrilled to be apart of these championship teams," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan. "Our young Huskies brought a championship mindset, confidence and competitiveness to the meet. An outstanding job by all the athletes and coaches. My 12th Big East title here at UConn, and winning is fun! Next stop, NCAA Championships."
Kasey Savage and Diarmuid O'Connor both won most outstanding field performer for the Huskies. Savage also won men's high point performer of the meet for the fourth consecutive indoor season, with 18.5 points. UConn was also named the 2025 BIG EAST Men's and Women's Coaching Staffs of the Year.Â

Diarmuid O'Connor, Joshua Mooney, and Max Ringwall swept the men's heptathlon, completing the last three events on Day 2. O'Connor took the gold medal with 5,594 points, with Mooney claiming silver at 5,392 points and Ringwall securing the sweep with 5,114 points to earn Bronze Â

A'liyah Thomas secured silver in the women's 60m hurdles, with a time of 8.58Â

Anna Connors won silver in the 400m, with a personal best time of 53.70Â

Jaia James notched bronze in the 60m, with a time of 7.52.Â

Terrel Williams secured silver in the 60m hurdles, with a time of 7.80.Â

Mekhi Stone was crowned champion in the 400m, with a time of 47.23Â

Noble Gongon won the silver medal in the 200m, with a time of 21.56Â

The 4x400 team of Del Lindsay, Mekhi Stone, Mahamed Sharif, and OJ Singletary won silver with a time of 3:13.36.Â

Sinclaire Fryer captured bronze in the shot put, with a throw of 14.09mÂ

Zayin Roe was crowned champion in the triple jump, with a personal best of 12.90mÂ
Men's Field:Â

Kyle Johnson, Marc Morrison, and Kasey Savage swept the triple jump. Johnson claimed gold with a mark of 15.60m, Morrison secured silver with 14.82m, and Savage took bronze at 14.61m.Â

Jack Foster claimed the silver medal in the shot put at 16.87m, and Garrett McHeard secured bronze at 16.33mÂ

Dar Jankovic took home the gold in the high jump, with a personal best of 2.15m. Â

Enaji Muhammad secured silver in the event, at 2.06m.Â
