UConn Alums Set for 2025 WNBA Season

STORRS, Conn. – Fifteen former UConn women's basketball players are on 10 WNBA rosters as the 2025 WNBA season kicks off Friday.
No. 1 draft pick Paige Bueckers makes her official WNBA debut tonight vs. the Minnesota Lynx at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Atlanta Dream and Washington Mystics also tip off at 7:30 p.m. and the Golden State Valkyries play their first-ever game vs. the Los Angeles Sparks at 10 p.m.
All of Friday's games will air on Ion and will be available to stream for free on WNBA League Pass.
In addition to Bueckers, UConn alums on WNBA rosters this season include: Moriah Jefferson and Kia Nurse (Chicago Sky); Tina Charles, Bria Hartley and Olivia Nelson-Ododa (Connecticut Sun); Tiffany Hayes (Golden State Valyries); Kiah Stokes (Las Vegas Aces); Azurá Stevens (Los Angeles Sparks); Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx); Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty); Katie Lou Samuelson and Gabby Williams (Seattle Storm); and Stefanie Dolson and Aaliyah Edwards (Washington Mystics).
Stewart led the New York Liberty to the team's first WNBA Finals title in 2024. Collier was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Stewart and Collier were All-WNBA and All-Defensive First Team selections.
In the 2025 WNBA GM survey, Collier is the favorite to win WNBA MVP while Bueckers is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.
Samuelson and Nika Mühl will miss the 2025 season due to injury. Dorka Juhász and Lou Lopez Sénéchal will sit out the 2025 WNBA season for personal reasons.
