Three Huskies Named to UConn Classic All-Tournament Team

STORRS, Conn.— Following an undefeated weekend at the UConn Volleyball Center, three Huskies were named to the UConn Classic All-Tournament Team. Emma Werkmeister (Victor, N.Y.) was named tournament MVP. Grace Maria (Arlington, Va.) and Audrey Rome (Sandwich, Ill.) joined Werkmeister on the team.
Werkmeister averaged 3.22 kills/set, 2.00 digs/set and 0.89 aces/set, pouring in 14 terminations in the victory over Brown. Werkmeister leads the Huskies with 159 kills on the season (3.53/set) and 27 aces (0.60/set).
Maria contributed on both ends for the Huskies, averaging 2.33 kills/set and 1.22 digs/set on the undefeated weekend for the Huskies.
Rome anchored the UConn defense all weekend long, leading the Huskies with 15 blocks in the three matches. Rome was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week earlier this week.
Brown received two all-tournament selections, with Sophia Wolfson and Ally Panzloff representing the Bears after a 2-1 weekend.
Sara Dasic was selected for Marist and Emily Sawyer was selected for Sacred Heart.
