Huskies Lead After Day One of UConn Invite

UConn Invitational - Day One Results
HAMPDEN, MA - The UConn golf team wrapped up the first round of the 2025 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse on Sunday afternoon and sit at even par and in first place atop the leader board after the first 18-holes.
UConn has four of their top-five inside the top-20 after the first round as well as four golfers all tied for third overall on the leaderboard. Senior Conor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) and junior Bradley Sawaka (Ellington, CT) are both tied for third overall after shooting one-under 71's. The pair of senior Colin Spencer (Mashpee, MA) and freshman Matthew Oliveira (Dartmouth, MA), playing as individuals, joined them with matching 71's to sit tied for third.
Sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) is tied for 11th after shooting an even par 72 on Sunday. Classmate Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Tawain) is tied for 19th in the field after a Sunday 74.
The Huskies as a team posted a first round score of 288 (E), and hold an eight stroke lead over Villanova and Fairfield after day one. John Scully of Holy Cross is in the lead after day one thanks to a three-under 69. Markus Lam of Boston College is in second at two-under (72).
The second round will get underway at 8:30 am on Monday morning.
