No. 1 UConn, No. 23 Notre Dame to Face Off on MLK Jr. Day

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (18-0) hosts No. 23 Notre Dame (12-5) in Gampel Pavilion on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 5 p.m. The game will air on FOX and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
Monday is Jersey Night. Fans should rep their favorite player and wear a jersey to the game. $2 Miller Lite will be available as supplies last beginning 90 minutes prior to tip – please drink responsibly.
The Huskies lead the nation with 24.3 assists per game. UConn has dished out 20+ assists in its last 17 games. Junior KK Arnold ranks third nationally with a 4.73 assist-turnover ratio.
Sophomore Sarah Strong had 24 points, nine rebounds and five blocks to lead UConn to a 99-50 rout of Villanova on Thursday. Graduate student Azzi Fudd had 14 points while junior KK Arnold and freshman Blanca Quiñonez each scored 13. All 11 Huskies who played vs. the Wildcats scored. UConn had a 39-16 bench point advantage vs. Villanova.
Strong is currently at 993 career points.
UConn is 39-16 all-time vs. Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish have won the last three meetings between the teams. The teams last faced off in South Bend, Ind., on Dec. 12, 2024, a 79-68 win for Notre Dame. Sarah Strong had 14 points and seven rebounds for UConn in the loss.
Notre Dame fell to No. 9 Louisville, 79-66, on Thursday. This season, Hannah Hidalgo leads the Irish with 25.0 points, 5.7 assists and 5.7 steals per game. She leads the nation in steals (96) and steals per game. Head coach Niele Ivey is in her fifth season at Notre Dame.
